Actor Cole Sprouse has been on a crazy press tour for his new movie, Five Feet Apart. The film is being praised as the new Fault In Our Stars, with both Sprouse and his costar Haley Lu Richardson earning praise for the outstanding performances.

The movie premiere was last week. Sprouse and Richardson have been all over the various talk shows speaking about the flick. Due to the timing of the film’s opening, the 26-year-old has been consistently asked to talk about the passing of his friend and Riverdale costar Luke Perry.

Today, Sprouse stopped by The View to chat all things Five Feet Apart when host Joy Behar brought up Perry’s shocking death. Sprouse handled it with dignity, love and most of all respect for the actor’s family. He also opened up about how Riverdale will deal with the loss in terms of storyline and the character of Fred Andrews.

“I can’t go too much into the spoilers of it, but we do have something planned narratively. We dedicated some of the episodes to him,” shared the actor who plays Jughead Jones on the show.

As more questions regarding Perry were thrown his way, Sprouse politely and quickly praised the Beverly Hills 90120 heartthrob, while also reiterating his desire to respect Perry’s family during this difficult time. Lili Reinhart’s boyfriend also expressed his belief the actor would not want people to mourn him too long.

“He was very well loved. I mean, the whole world is mourning his passing. But, he was one of those guys that would rather have us all laughing about his great stories than mourning for too long,” Sprouse added.

Throughout the film press tour when asked about the 52-year-old’s passing, Sprouse has given a brief response but would attempt to change the subject mentioning Perry’s family. He will answer with a moving tribute but is quick to remind everyone of the family’s loss and privacy.
